New Life is led by people who are not perfect, but are experiencing the perfect, transforming love of Jesus and are passionate about sharing that love with others.
David Durst loves God and people. He is 35 years old and has been a pastor for 30 years (one of those numbers is true). He loves being a husband, father, grandfather and shepherd to the people of New Life and to students at Asbury Seminary. He is the author of Finding God in Your World and other resources that affirm Christ as the answer to all people regardless of their spiritual journeys.
Ed Frank is passionate about helping people gain a deeper love of God through education, prayer, and one-on-one mentoring. He leads our weekly Sunday School and and adult discipleship programs.
Brian first heard a call to pastor while serving in the US Coast Guard. Many years and a meandering road later, Brian can be found at New Life Community with a passion to seek the least and the lost as well as to bring God's healing touch to individuals, families, and communities.
Jason has led worship at New Life Community since 2016 and is a student at Asbury Seminary. His goal as worship pastor is 'to set the stage for the Lord Jesus, and to foster an environment where God is lifted up and people are made whole.' He works alongside a great worship team, and is grateful for the opportunity to serve with his talents and passion.
Valerie is a mother of four girls, who she homeschools. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Life Education from Spring Arbor University and many years of experience in early childhood education. She served in many children’s ministry positions in both Michigan and Kentucky. She currently teaches Spiritual Formation classes for children ages four to seven through Asbury Theological Seminary as well as leads parent/child classes. Pastor Stephanie Junker has been on staff at New Life for two years. She works mainly with the youth group but she can also be found preaching, teaching theology and bible, leading the young adults life group, and baking for church bake sales. She's passionate about theology, holiness, and embodiment. She feels called to be an academic in service to the church, preparing leaders and young people to be Christ's light in the world by encouraging critically reasoned faith and joy in relationship with Christ. Stephanie serves New Life along with her husband Jacob.
We come together in worship each Sunday at 10:30. During worship, the Holy Spirit leads us together in singing, praying, and sharing testimonies. Worship is one of the ways that we experience God's transforming love.
We offer weekly Sunday school classes at 9:15 that help our members know and receive God's transforming love. As we study the Bible each week, we laugh, love, and grow into new life together.
Our youth gather each Sunday at 9:15 AM to learn about Christ while laughing and sharing together. Our youth participate in different events such as summer camp, Winter Jam, and lock-ins. Additionally, each youth has access to an adult mentor who provides a loving ear and kind words for youth seeking to be more like Christ.
Our children’s ministry is called “the Greenhouse”. It is a safe, fun place where kids live and grow strong and wise in Christ. We have a place for all God's children from birth to 5th grade. Children's Sunday school meets at 9:15 AM and we offer Children's Church during worship.
Our Life Groups are places where members and visitors alike are welcome, safe, and share life together. Fellowship with one another is the main way in which we encounter Christ in our Life Groups. This is why we meet in each others' homes and break bread together. Beyond fellowship we share testimonies, pray, engage scripture, challenge each other, and reach out to our local communities.
The Holy Spirit uses our time in Life Groups to nurture us inwardly, and outwardly--personally, and communally. We look forward to seeing you there!
